Ipamorelin

Description

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide (Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2) that stimulates growth hormone release by activating the ghrelin receptor, GHS-R1a. It was one of the first growth hormone secretagogues shown to be highly selective for GH.

What is Ipamorelin?

Older secretagogues such as GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 raise cortisol, prolactin and appetite signals alongside GH in animal studies. Ipamorelin produced GH release with little change in ACTH or cortisol, which makes it a cleaner tool for isolating GH effects. It is often studied together with GHRH analogues such as CJC-1295 because the two receptor pathways act synergistically.
